It's not just genetics or determination—though those certainly help!


The real difference often lies in the precision of their approach: expert coaching from experienced professionals, personalised nutrition and recovery strategies tailored to their need as athletes. And of course... data!


They track everything - whether its reps and sets in the gym, pacing on the track, possession of the ball...


...But also performance metrics like VO2max, lactate threshold, time spent in zone 2...


Body composition metrics like body fat %, lean mass, bone density and muscle measurements...


Recovery metrics like sympathetic/parasympathetic activation and HRV...


Exact calorie requirements for your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), macro requirements on training and non-training days...


...the list goes on, but one thing you can't overlook is that the numbers don't lie.


At Body Blueprints, we believe every athlete in Northern Ireland deserves this level of precision.

Our promo video with Megan & Lucy

From Concept to Reality

When we sat down to plan this video, we knew we needed to showcase real athletes experiencing our services in real time.


We were fortunate to collaborate with two phenomenal local athletes:


Megan Hamill, an accomplished 2x Ironman triathlete whose dedication to her multidisciplinary sport is awe inspiring. Megan competed in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, a gruelling race in tough conditions (I've been there too!).


On the bike course, Megan fell from her bike, but as the support team came to see if she needed an ambulance, Megan only wanted help fixing her bike seat so she could continue. She has since gone on and keeps adding to her athletic achievements all the time. Though her speaking work and social media, Megan is committed to helping others and an inspiration to many.



Lucy McGonigle, an elite CrossFit competitor from Newtowards, just a few minutes from our lab, Lucy is a true NI superstar!


Lucy was crowned 'fittest teen on Earth' 2 years in a row, aged 16 & 17, and now in 2025, she's just qualified for the Crossfit games - one of the toughest athletic events on the planet. Lucy's combination of strength, endurance and technical skill is awesome and she deserves all the support Northern Ireland can send her!


For our video, we captured Megan and Lucy's experience of going through our testing process and their reactions to finding out some of the insights that our testing can provide.


Northern Ireland's Incredible Athletic Potential

One of the main drivers for us at Body Blueprints is a simple observation: Northern Ireland is brimming with athletic talent.


From weekend warriors to Olympic medalists, we've met so many determined people pushing their limits.


Yet for too long, these athletes have been training without the level of support that they really deserve.


Not because they lack dedication or discipline, but because they lack funding and institutional support, which is stretched.


Without backing from large sporting organisations, many talented Northern Irish athletes simply don't get access to the scientific insights and specialised guidance that could transform their performance.


The result? Our highly talented people left to fend for themselves. Without that support afforded to athletes elsewhere in the world, they work hard & persevere, often funding their own participation.


Some may perhaps not even realise they have untapped potential, or their training & lifestyle means aren't recovering optimally, or maybe their their nutrition isn't quite right. Maybe it's picking up a preventable injuries because the signs were missed.


This can mean that remarkable potential is left unfulfilled—not from lack of effort or dedication, but from lack of access.


Our video aims to show that there's a better way—that scientific insights shouldn't be reserved only for those with substantial funding.


We're bridging this gap, bringing elite-level sports science within reach of every committed athlete in Northern Ireland, regardless of their financial backing or professional status.


Breaking Down Barriers to Elite Performance

Traditional sports science support has long been gated - difficult to access, prohibitive costs or reserved exclusively for professional teams and athletes.


We're changing that.


By bringing high-tech laboratory-grade equipment and expertise to a broader audience, we're democratising access to these kinds of insights that can transform athletic performance.


Our video demonstrates this principle in action—showing that the same methodologies used with world champions can benefit athletes at every level.


What matters isn't whether you're competing internationally or tackling your first local race; it's whether you're serious about improving and willing to let data guide your journey.


Beyond the Numbers: The Human Element

While our video prominently features our scientific approach, it also reveals something equally important: the human connection behind everything we do.

This really does mean 'every' athlete - even the ones who wouldn't describe themselves as such!


  • Competitive athletes across all levels - from those competing nationally or internationally to those participating in local leagues and tournaments

  • Weekend warriors who may not compete formally but train consistently and take their sport seriously - runners, cyclists, triathletes, field sports, like football or rugby, etc.

  • University and school athletes who are developing their sporting careers

  • Masters athletes who continue to train and compete in later years

  • Recreational athletes who participate in organised sports regularly

  • Fitness enthusiasts who may not identify as traditional athletes but approach their training with dedication

  • People in rehabilitation from injuries who are using sport as part of their recovery

  • People participating in non-traditional or emerging sports that might not receive mainstream recognition or funding

  • Young athletes showing promise who haven't yet reached elite status

  • Adaptive athletes who compete with a disability


We are here to say to all of them - you don't need to use guesswork. You don't need to rely on apps with there generalisations, assumptions and formulas. No generic programmes. No more training blind.
